Bancontact is the best-known online payment method in Belgium. Payment is completed in one's own internet banking environment. Belgian consumers regularly pay in stores, restaurants and online using Bancontact with their smartphone via the Bancontact Payconiq App.

The online payment process takes place via a secure connection to the buyer's familiar online banking environment. Belgium| Payconiq
Payconiq is an omnichannel payment method for the Belgian market. That is, Payconiq can be used to pay both online and offline. In stores, restaurants, web shops or at events. Payment is made via a QR code that is scanned with a smartphone. Payments are made directly from the Payconiq app that is linked to the consumer's bank account.
Payconiq is a new payment method, which allows payment via smartphone to friends, in stores, restaurants and now also in online stores. The payment system was launched at the end of 2015 by ING, Rabobank and De Volksbank, among others, but in the meantime several European banks have also embraced the service.
Currently, more than 50,000 stores are affiliated with Payconiq, large and small. The payment method was developed on the new European banking system PSD2 that enables instant payment. This allows consumers to pay using their smartphone at the touch of a button, without being redirected to their bank.
Belgium| KBC/CBCDe
KBC/CBC bank is one of the largest banks in Belgium. With the KBC payment button, they offer an online payment method, which allows you to let your Belgian customers pay via their own bank account, also via mobile. The payment is made in real-time, or directly, via the customer's own online banking environment. Approximately 20% of online payments are made via this payment method.
What makes KBC different from other popular Belgian payment methods Belfius or Bancontact? Within the check-out there is the possibility to pay afterwards, the payment risk is taken by the bank. You, the entrepreneur, get paid immediately.
KBC offers the option for consumers to pay the bill later. This gives the customer additional flexibility. The customer pays immediately or up to two months after the purchase. Post-payment is possible when the total amount is between 50 and 1,250 euros. You as an entrepreneur will not notice any difference. This is because the amount due is paid immediately.
Belgium| Belfius
With 3 million customers, Belfius is a trusted name in Belgium. Belfius is a popular Belgian bank with its own payment button. Payments made through the Belfius Pay Button are guaranteed and cannot be reversed. In addition, it is a direct payment method with real-time feedback. Anyone with a Belfius account can use the pay button, this applies both to an order via desktop and mobile with the Belfius Mobile app.
On the Belfius payment page, choose 'Pay via Belfius Mobile' or 'Sign up via Belfius Direct Net'. With Belfius Mobile, a QR code appears on the screen of your tablet or PC that can be scanned with the Belfius Mobile app. You then check the payment details via the app and confirm the transaction.
Do you opt for Belfius Direct? Then you will be presented with an online transfer form, with all relevant details already filled in. You then enter your account number and confirm the payment with a password.
In addition, of course, payments can also be made directly from the smartphone with the Belfius Mobile app. In that case, you don't even have to scan a QR code anymore. The payment details are automatically transferred into the app and you confirm the payment with your password.
Germany| Giropay
Giropay has 35 million users. This German online banking system was developed by three banking groups that together represent 80% of the German market. In addition to German customers, more and more people from Austria can also use the payment method.
Giropay's payment process is similar to that of iDEAL in the Netherlands. As with iDEAL, transactions cannot be reversed. Payments are made through the payer's own bank. So it is actually just an online bank transfer initiated from a check-out. Completing the payment can be done with PIN or TAN code. Apart from being an online payment solution, Giropay can also be used as a means of identification, for example to confirm majority or account details.
Poland| Przelewy24
Przelewy24 is a local Polish payment service that facilitates payments between you and your Polish customers. P24 guarantees payment to you, the entrepreneur, without chargeback risk.
In terms of operation, P24 is similar to iDEAL in the Netherlands. On the payment page, the consumer chooses P24 as the payment method. On the follow-up page, the consumer then selects his or her bank and is automatically redirected to the online banking environment. Here the payment can be completed.
P24 is by far the most popular payment method in Poland. This payment method in your checkout increases customer satisfaction and your conversion rate.
Italy | Nexi
Nexi Payments, formerly known as CartaSi, is a payment product of the Italian bank. Approximately 53% of Italians sometimes pay with Nexi.

Italy| PostePay
Postepay is a payment brand of the Italian Post Office (Poste Italiane). Its cards are co-branded with Visa and Mastercard. With more than 19 million Standard and 5.4 million Evolution cards in circulation, it is one of the most widely used payment methods in Italy. Paying by prepaid card is very popular among Italians.

EPS (Electronic Payment Standard) is a debit card that can be seen as Austria's iDEAL variant. The payment method originated in 2001 and has a reach of 2.5 million Austrian bank card/account holders. By now, over 80% of Austrian merchants already accept EPS as a payment method in their webshop. EPS transactions are guaranteed, so you do not run the risk of possible chargebacks and/or charge backs.
With an EPS payment, you get real-time status feedback directly from the Buckaroo system. France| Cartes Bancaires
